I lived through the Watergate scandal. It took a long time. There were hearings that dragged on through the summer of 1973 when I was about to be married.
Then in 1975, I worked at a TV station in Fairbanks and was the first Alaskan to hear President Nixon resign (but just by a few milliseconds).
This time, maybe I'm sensitive to more political goings-on but, it sure seems like the Trump administration is heading for a severe crash.
I've also lived through the Iran-Contra scandal, the Impeachment of President Clinton for 'lying' and a whole lotta other crap.
Now I see the President-elect refusing a lot of what has been normal procedure in the past: releasing tax returns, putting his business in a (true) blind trust, talking with the press. And he is praising foreign leaders that America has conflicts, or potential conflicts with.
I could go on about Trump but I think this is just groundwork. Somewhere ahead of him will come a 'You can't handle the truth' moment (You really need a reference?) where Jack Nicholson blows up and admits he violated the law in a murder.
It might be how he played his business above the United States or it might be actions that turn out to be treasonous. But I predict one of these things will unseat him.
That is, if Congress has the courage to protect our Union.
